GOOD NEWS

The Gospel...

The Gospel is the Good News of the life, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ on behalf of mankind. Our eternal destiny depends on how we respond to this supreme act of love, and that we understand a few things about God that He tells us in the Bible:

God is…

God is the creator, owner, and sustainer of everything, including you. God is perfect in every way, and requires our obedience.

(Genesis 1:1) In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.

(Psalm 24:1) The earth is the LORD’s and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein.

We are born in disobedient rebellion against God…

Every man and woman ever born has broken God’s law, and deserves eternal punishment. Breaking His law is called sin. And we can’t save ourselves by our own good works.

(Romans 3: 10, 23) as it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

(Romans 6: 23) For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Jesus is…

Our savior! God sent Him to die on the cross, in our place, to pay the penalty of death for the sins of all who believe in His sacrificial death and resurrection. Jesus was born into the world, both God and sinless man, for this very reason. Jesus satisfied God’s wrath, our punishment, so we don’t have to when He died on the cross for us. Jesus proved He is God, victorious over sin and death, in His resurrection! He rose from the grave!

(Colossians 2:9) For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily,

(Romans 5:8) but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

(2 Corinthians 5:21) For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

(1 Corinthians 15:4) that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures,

What should we do…

God commands us in the Bible to confess and repent of our sin, and believe in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. Repentance basically means that we turn away from all sin that dishonors God to live a new life of obedience to Him.

(Isaiah 55:7) let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the LORD, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

(Luke 9:23) And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.

(Romans 10:9) because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Accepting that Jesus died for your sins, God’s plan for salvation, is outlined in the Bible like in the verses above. Confess your belief in Jesus’ death burial and resurrection for your sins, and that you accept Him as Lord and Savior of your life.

The moment you accept God’s plan of salvation, you have become His dear child. And now that you are a believer, it is important that you find other believers in a good church fellowship that believes in and teaches from the Holy Bible.

If you have sincerely accepted Jesus' free gift of salvation, welcome to the Body of Christ!
